Original Watercolor Paintings

My first watercolor paintings were created in the 1970’s. I’ll never forget prepping for the juried show at the LSU union, and the excitement of being selected for exhibition! Forty years later, I have a very similar feeling, a little nirvana too, as I put myself out there with these original watercolors I began obsessing on once more in 2014.

I get totally immersed in the details of each stroke of color. I experiment with different watercolor paints like those from Winsor Newton (the one I used in college) and more recently using Daniel Smith watercolors I received from my daughter for mother’s day this year (such a supportive child!) I’ve been so surprised how evolved art supplies have become these days, so many choices, and such a variety of quality and price.

What an incredible honor to have your father, and your daughter sing your praises in this sweet video directed and edited by Francelle Theriot of 2121 Design. Hats off to the all female crew at LSU, CHSE’s professional communications director as well!
